LevelUp — Bubble Level & Ruler
LevelUp does not collect any personal data.
There is no account, no sign-up, no advertising and no usage analytics. Everything you measure and everything you save stays on your own phone.
The one thing the app does send is an anonymous crash report, and only when the app actually crashes, so that we can find and fix the bug. It contains no personal information. Section 5 explains exactly what is in it.
LevelUp ("the app") is developed and published by Techloop Solution ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app accesses on your device and why. It applies to the LevelUp Android app distributed on Google Play.
No personal data. We do not collect, sell or share personal information. Specifically, LevelUp does not collect:
The only data that ever leaves your phone is an anonymous crash report, and only if the app crashes. See section 5.
To work as a measuring tool, LevelUp uses the following. In every case the data is used on your device, in the moment, and is never saved to our servers or anyone else's.
| What | Why | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | The Laser Level tool shows a live camera view with a level line drawn over it, so you can line up shelves and picture frames. | Shown on screen only. No photo or video is ever captured, saved or sent. |
| Motion sensors | The accelerometer measures how your phone is tilted, which is what drives the bubble level, surface level and protractor. | Read in real time and shown on screen. Nothing is stored. |
| Flashlight | The torch button on each tool screen. | Controls the device light only. |
| Device storage | Saving your notes, tasks and app settings. | A private database inside the app on your phone. Never uploaded. |
Android will ask for camera permission the first time you open the Laser Level. You can refuse, and every other tool in the app will keep working normally. You can withdraw the permission at any time in Settings → Apps → LevelUp → Permissions.
Notes and tasks you save in the Records screen, along with your settings (unit, sound, ruler calibration), are stored in the app's own private storage on your device. They are not backed up to us, not synced, and not visible to anyone else.
Deleting this data: remove individual items inside the app, or clear everything at once by uninstalling LevelUp or using Settings → Apps → LevelUp → Storage → Clear data.
LevelUp uses Google Firebase Crashlytics to report crashes. If the app stops unexpectedly, a report is sent so we can find the fault and fix it in the next update. Nothing is sent while the app is working normally.
| A crash report contains | It never contains |
|---|---|
| The technical details of the fault (stack trace) | Your name, email or any account details |
| Device model, Android version and app version | Your location |
| Device state at the time — free memory and storage, screen orientation | Your measurements, notes or tasks |
| A random installation identifier, generated by Crashlytics and reset when you reinstall the app | Any camera image, or anything the camera saw |
These reports are processed by Google on our behalf under the Firebase privacy and security terms, and are retained by Crashlytics for up to 90 days. We use them only to fix bugs.
Because of this, the app holds the Android internet and network state permissions. They are used for nothing else — there is no other network request anywhere in the app.
Apart from Crashlytics described above, LevelUp contains no advertising, no analytics SDK and no social media integration. No other third party receives any information from this app.
If this ever changes in a future version — for example if advertising is added — this policy and the app's Data safety entry on Google Play will be updated before that version is released.
LevelUp is a general-purpose measuring tool and is not directed at children. Because the app collects no data at all, it collects no data from children either.
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA give you rights to access, correct or delete the personal data a company holds about you. We hold no personal data about you — crash reports are anonymous and cannot be traced back to you — so there is nothing for us to retrieve or erase. Everything else the app produces stays under your control on your own device.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this same address with a new "last updated" date. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's Google Play release notes.
